Your bags, explained before you pay
Every fare on BookTicketsHub shows the carry-on and checked bags it includes. Here's how to read that, and what to do if you need more.
BookTicketsHub does not charge for baggage and does not sell extra bags. Baggage allowances and fees are set by the airline that sells your ticket. We show you the allowance the airline sends us for your exact fare, so you know what's included before you pay.
Where you see your included bags
- Booking form: after you choose a flight and enter traveler details, a table shows the carry-on and checked bags included for each flight and each traveler, with a Baggage box under the billing form. You confirm you've reviewed it before you can pay.
- Confirmation page and email: your airline booking reference, included bags and how to add more.
If the airline doesn't send an allowance for part of a trip, we say so in plain words — call us at +1 866-280-0227 and we'll confirm it before you pay.
Adding extra bags
Extra bags can't be bought on BookTicketsHub. After booking, you add them directly with the airline using the airline booking reference from your confirmation email and your last name:

Extra bags can't be bought on BookTicketsHub. After you book, add them directly with your airline using your airline booking reference and last name.
- Online, right after booking (usually cheapest): on the your airline website or app, open Manage booking / My trips, enter your airline booking reference and last name, then choose Add bags.
- At online check-in: most airlines open check-in 24 hours before departure and let you add bags there.
- At the airport check-in counter: always possible, but usually the most expensive option. Arrive early if you need to pay for bags at the airport.
Extra-bag prices are set and charged by the airline, not by BookTicketsHub. Where to see each airline's baggage fees. Need help with the steps? Call BookTicketsHub support at +1 866-280-0227.
Extra-bag payments go to the airline, not to BookTicketsHub. We never add baggage charges to your BookTicketsHub total.
Where to see each airline's baggage fees
Baggage fees vary by airline, route, cabin and fare type, and airlines change them often. Always check the airline's own page for current fees:
- American Airlines ↗
- Delta Air Lines ↗
- United Airlines ↗
- British Airways ↗
- Lufthansa ↗
- Air France ↗
- KLM ↗
- Qatar Airways ↗
- Air Canada ↗
- Aer Lingus ↗
Airline not listed? Go to that airline's official website and open its Baggage section (usually under Travel information or Help). The airline that sold your ticket is shown on your fare and on your confirmation. If your trip uses more than one airline, the airline that sold the ticket usually sets the baggage rules for the whole trip — we can check this for you.
Carry-on, personal item and checked bag
- Personal item: a small bag that fits under the seat in front of you (handbag, laptop bag, small backpack). Most airlines allow one on every fare; size limits vary.
- Carry-on bag: a larger bag for the overhead bin. Some basic fares don't include one — check the Carry-on line on your fare.
- Checked bag: a bag handed over at check-in and carried in the hold. Weight and size limits apply (often 23 kg / 50 lb in economy).
- Infants without a seat often get a reduced or zero allowance. Our table shows each traveler's allowance separately when they differ.
Packing tips
- Buy extra bags online as early as possible — prices are usually higher at the airport.
- Weigh and measure your bags at home; overweight and oversize charges are high.
- Keep medicines, documents, valuables and chargers in your personal item or carry-on.
- On itineraries with separate airlines or a self-transfer, you may need to collect and re-check bags. Ask us before you pay if you're not sure whether this applies.
Lost, delayed or damaged bags
Report it to the airline at the airport before you leave the baggage hall and keep the report number. The airline handles baggage claims. BookTicketsHub can help you find the right airline contact — email info@bookticketshub.com with your booking reference.
